Cognitive Reappraisal

GLOSSARY

An emotion regulation strategy that involves changing the meaning of emotions, to alter its emotional impact. Contrast with suppression. Compare with cognitive defusion and decentering. Central to Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
