Emotivity ARC Micro-Skills Modules

Preserving and Strengthening Humanity's Best Abilities

The Emotivity ARC Micro-Skills Course develops the human skills needed not just to thrive, but to truly flourish in a world of uncertainty and opportunity. Our course comprises 10 modules aimed at developing unique human capabilities – skills that not only complement but elevate the best of humanity in a fast-changing world.

The paradox of progress has led many of us to make costly trades. We exchange connections for convenience. Purpose for pleasure. Attention for affirmation. Many of us struggle to hold our attention in an informationally noisy world[1]. Our ability to empathize with others – an essential skill that helps us foster healthy relationships has also declined[2]. People continue to struggle to find ways to create purpose and meaning in their lives[3].

A world of increasing choices leaves fewer opportunities for us to preserve, strengthen, and hone what has been, and continues to be, our most powerful human capacities.

We offer modules that help learners:

Understand and manage their emotions.

Direct and redirect their most precious resource, their attention

Cultivate resilient thinking and psychological flexibility.

Use their innermost strengths and virtues.

Employ storytelling and writing for well-being.

Craft the life they want.

The Emotivity ARC Micro-Skills Course uses the best of what psychological science has to offer. It is learning that is guided by an important philosophy:

In a world that is becoming increasingly artificial, we need to train what is most human.

Training Model and Philosophy

Our modules follow our ARC (Acquire-Refine-Cultivate) model, based on principles from educational and positive psychology. We believe that learning works best through not just the acquisition of new information, but also when opportunities to refine, adjust, and then cultivate the new skills are offered. We deliver learning that is not just informative, but also practical and actionable.

Our modules can be tailored to suit your target audience’s and organization’s needs.

  • Refine your understanding through reflecting on your real-world experiences.

  • Tailor your learning so that it meets your professional development goals. Our instructors will help you adjust your skills to suit your context and experiences.

  • We help you translate the science into relevant, actionable steps.

  • Cultivate the practice of your newly-attained skill.

  • Hone and habituate your new skill so that you are ready to put it to use the next time the situation requires it.

  • Cultivation builds the momentum for your skill development, ensuring that the learning becomes as permanent as possible from your time in our session.

Our modules are grounded in reliable, replicable scientific evidence. The Emotivity team curates scientific evidence from reputable academic journals, distills the findings from numerous studies, and uses the evidence to construct customized modules for your organization from the ground up. Our modules translate science into practical tools for everyday life and are tailored to fit your learners’ context and experiences. They are science-based human development training for thoughtful professionals.
