Karoshi (過労死)

GLOSSARY

A condition of being permanently unable to work or death due to acutely attacking ischemic heart disease. Inherent health problems such as hypertension and arteriosclerosis are deteriorated by excessive work overload, leading to diseases including myocardial infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage and/or cerebral infractions. Contrast with stress and burnout. Contrast with workaholism.
