Ikigai-kan

GLOSSARY

The experience of a life worth living. Ikigai-kan comprises both affective and cognitive components and comprises both hedonic and eudaimonic well-being. Experiencing ikigai-kan involves both the perception that one’s life is meaningful and engaging in life experiences that lead to positive emotions. Ikigai, conversely, refers to the source and psychological constituents that lead to the experience of such a life. See also meaningfulness in life and psychological richness.
