Satisficing

An approach to decision-making that involves the individual exerting efforts to capture and process information until a choice that meets acceptable standards is reached. Individuals who adopt this style search only until they identify an option that meets their standards, which they then choose. A decision-making approach under conditions of bounded rationality. Contrast with maximizing.
