Cognitive Load

Any demands on working memory storage and processing of information. The load can be caused by the intrinsic nature of a learning task (intrinsic load) or by the format of instruction (extraneous load). Cognitive load can be influenced by emotions such as frustration and anxiety, and more generally, stress.
