Trust

A generalized expectation that the words, promises, or statements of other individuals or groups can be relied upon. Broadly distinguished between institutional and interpersonal trust. Institutional trust refers to the belief that institutions such as governments, trade unions, the media, and other social structures function effectively and fairly. Interpersonal trust, specifically, is defined as a willingness to be vulnerable under conditions of risk and interdependence. Part of and relates to high-quality connections.
