Emotional Response Coherence

GLOSSARY

The coordination, or association, of a person’s experiential, behavioral, and physiological responses as the emotion unfolds over time. It is how much an individual's personal feelings, bodily reactions, and outward behaviors "line up" when experiencing an emotion. While these systems do not always align perfectly, this natural coherence can be intentionally or automatically altered when a person attempts to regulate their emotions.
